Summer Strength and Conditioning Program Announcement

We are excited to announce our plans for our summer strength and conditioning program. This is for all students entering 7th-12th grade for the 2024-25 school year. With the addition of a new weight room and a second gym, we have bigger and better options for all of our BCS students to participate. Along with our new facilities, we are blessed to announce that we will have Steve Price leading our strength and conditioning program. Coach Price is currently the head strength and conditioning coach at “The Lab” in College Station and he has worked with several of our current student-athletes. He will be directly involved with programming workouts that will be conducted by some of our current sport coaches. Under Coach Prices direction, each session will utilize our new weight room and gymnasium with an emphasis on speed and strength.

This year’s coaching staff assisting in conducting the workouts include:

Steve Price – Coach Price will oversee and program all workouts for our student athletes. He is a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, CSCCa certified strength and conditioning coach, and RPR reflexive performance Reset, CFSC Level 1 & 2 certified functional strength coach, USA Weightlifting sports and performance coach, FMS level 1 & 2 certified and is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Precision Nutrition Master Health Coach. He has spent time at Rutgers University, IMG Academy and Texas A&M (football). Coach Price is NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist who is enthusiastic about refining athletes’ skills, increasing speed, and improving power and strength by means of proper programing and coaching. Focused on reducing the chance of injury and increasing performance by developing specific training programs for the needs of each athlete’s strengths and weaknesses, increasing mobility and sport-specific conditioning. He will be working and guiding our coaches during the summer and throughout the 2024-25 school year to facilitate a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all of our student athletes.

Jori Kennedy (Head Cross Country Coach) – Coach Kennedy has a wealth of knowledge from her days of being a personal trainer. She will once again lead the junior high and high school girls workouts.

Correy Washington (Varsity Football Coach) – Has several years of leading strength programs. He will be working with our high school boys

Brian Thrift (Varsity Boys Basketball) – He’s old!!! He will be working with the high school boys.

We will announce our coach for the junior high boys soon.

WHAT TO KNOW:

Cost: $130 for the entire summer. Your student accounts can be billed.

Workouts begin June 3rd and will run Monday-Thursday (No workouts July 1-4) with the last week of summer workouts being July 22-25.

Workout Schedule:

Junior High Boys 8:00-9:00 am

Junior High Girls 8:45-9:45 am

High School Girls 9:30-10:30 am

High School Boys 10:15-11:15 am

WHAT TO BRING:

Appropriate workout clothing.

Water bottle (filled) to hydrate.
